I've changed the template to minima black in honor of the official death of this blog. A new blog will shortly rise and take its place.
Today I stumbled upon abandonia.com, and I felt this huge void filling inside me, like all of the sudden I finally regenerated a nonfunctioning, sickly left lung. I can finally play all of those games I wasn't allowed to play when I was 9! Along with abandonia, I also learned about DOSBox, a nice little DOS emulator for pretty much any OS, including my Mac. Nice! This kind of thing makes me wish I had become a programmer, because lets face it - computer people bring way more happiness into peoples lives than artists do.
There's more goods than just these two, but I just couldn't resist plugging these awesome games:
Today I did something that, a week ago, I considered impossible. I finally beat Dr. Mario! That is, I beat level 20 on Hi speed. This has been a great month - Natalie and I had a baby (Elijah - I haven't yet written about him in this blog!), I finished the main storyline of Neverwinter Nights, and I destroyed Dr. Mario. That is, as Dr. Mario, I eradicated all of the little viruses in my medicine bottle. After I beat the game I went outside and it was the perfect day. How could I ask for more?
Check out my stone cold expression - this is the confident visage of a true gamer. I'm going to send this picture in to Nintendo Power! Then all those wannabe Dr. Marios can just forget about their weaksauce high scores amd go play Tetris with their grandmas! I tried to get Elijah to pose in the picture with me, but he just slept through the whole thing. Babies!
